Puerto Vallarta again ranks as one of the winning Reader’s Choice destinations on the popular website About.com. Puerto Vallarta was previously awarded “Most Romantic Place in Mexico 2012" and has now won the category of “Favorite Beach Destination in Mexico”.
This recognition is awarded by the readers of the popular site About.com,
founded in 1996, which is one of the most important and busiest sites
among Americans, that has more than 46 million unique visitors monthly
and is recognized as one of the Top Ten sites within the USA due to its
broad content and accuracy on various topics such as health, technology,
food, travel and more.
Competing within the category of favorite beaches in Mexico were Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Huatulco, Los Cabos and Riviera Maya and the voting took place from February 22 to 21 March 2012, Puerto Vallarta has also become one of the favorite destinations for romance, proven by the thousands of weddings performed in Vallarta each year, and the recent awarding of “Most Romantic Place in Mexico 2012 “by users of the site About.com
In 2011, Puerto Vallarta won the title of "Friendliest City in the World", as chosen by readers of the prestigious magazine Condé Nast. In 2010, Vallarta was named "Best Place to Retire in the World" by the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons).
That same year, the city was named "Best Holiday Destination in Mexico" by USNews.com.
